Basic Salary Scale: Ksh.38,270 – Ksh. 51,170 p.m. (CSG 10)
House Allowance: Ksh.7500 – 16, 500 (Depending on duty station)
Commuter Allowance: Ksh.5, 000
Leave Allowance: As existing in the Civil Service
Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year
Medical Cover: As provided by the government
Terms of Service: Three (3) years contract renewable subject to satisfactory performance

Requirement for appointment

  • For appointment to this grade a candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Bio-Medical Engineering or its equivalent from a University recognized in Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. Duties and responsibilities include;

  • installing , maintaining, repair or providing technical support for biomedical equipment;
  • evaluating the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of biomedical equipment through calibration;
  • training clinicians and other personnel on the proper use of equipment;
  • establishing and maintaining a safe work environment;
  • conforming to all safety rules and regulations; and
  • performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
